The 21st day of our second European Adventure.
Today was a laundry day, so after breakfast we packed our dirty clothes into one of the big suitcases and rolled down the hill in the rain to the Aqua Laundromat. It is I think more expensive than in the states, but it works fine, and we eventually had clean dry clothes—necessary as we are heading to London on Sunday.
After returning from the laundry, bringing the clothes home up the hill is much more work than going down , we decided to head downtown to claim our train tickets and to have lunch. We got off the subway at St. Enoch, and walked to Glasgow Central where we turned a computer number into actual train tickets. We were helped by a very nice young woman who wished us better weather further south.
From the station we walked in a diminishing light rain to “Chippe Doon the Lane” our favorite fish and chips place. We had a lunch, and it was OK but not of the quality we remembered. Maybe we will give them another chance or not?
We did a little shopping, some Strawberry/vanilla instant iced tea. We looked at Smith’s the bookshop and bought some fountain pens for each of ourselves. We did not find suitable soccer shirts. But we looked.
In St. Enoch’s Mall we found a model shop which had lots oftoys for Neil and some ideas for the boys. We left without spending all our money, but we know where it is.
We bought a Coke at McDonald’s from a less than enthusiastic young lady and headed for the subway and home. At the second stop Pete got on the subway, Friday June 15, 2012

At the second stop Pete got on the subway (not a planned meeting), and as we rode we made plans for dinner as Jess would not be with us.
Back at HillHead (Pete and Jess’s neighborhood) we stopped in at Marks and Spencer for some dinner and then carried it up the hill (these are not little or gentle hills...more like the elevation of Brady Street in a shorter length) to the flat.
Jess turned Joey over to the second shift and headed to her engagement. Pete cooked the ravioli, we ate, even Joey, though the pasta was OK (she got plain). Then Pete worked a little and off to bed.
