Day 22 June 16. Glasgow

Day 22 Saturday June 16

Happy Birthday, Ian!

If this is Glasgow, it must be raining. Yes, it was. Our mornings were similar to other mornings...breakfast, showers, play with Joey until nap time. We took Chase Girl Dog out for a walk in the rain...actually she needed to go to the bathroom. We walked up to the University of Glasgow to a space behind one of the buildings where she did her thing. Then we walked back.

Jess had a hair appointment at 12:30. She came back looking great with her hair much shorter and with bangs.

We had some lunch. Pete ordered a car and walked down hill to Byers Road to pick up the car. It was a smaller car but all five of us fit in it. It is a good thing because it is about the size of the car we will have for our vacation in July.

Pete needed to go to a big box store in the suburbs to get chalkboard paint for a wall for his conference. Wicks reminded me of Lowes with the exception of the tools. There were almost no hand tools. It seemed very strange to me. Pete got his paint. Then he took us to IKEA. Guess what....IKEA in Scotland is much like IKEA in the States. The electrical items have the funny plugs that they use....220 current. It is extremely strange to go into IKEA and walk out without buying anything. Pete and Jess did buy somethings.

After IKEA we went to this indoor mall -- amusement park-- called The Braehead Escape. It seems to have a few stores, but most of the place is made up of amusement spots and restaurants. There is an indoor rock climbing wall. There was a gyroscopic chair like NASA uses to train astronauts. The most unique thing in this mall park is the indoor ski slope with real snow. The patrons were using real snow skiing equipment. There was the ski lift as well. Pete and Jess treated us to dinner for Father's Day at a Mexican restuarant. I had Taco Tapas. It was quite good.

It was past Joey's bedtime before we got home, so she went right to the bath and then to bed. Actually the adults were not far behind her.

A good day was had by all.......
