Tonight is the last night of time changes. We have lost one hour per night since the second day of the voyage. The loss of the six hours begins to wear and today will be a quiet day.
We sat on deck 7 and watched the ocean and read. We saw a couple of ocean going tankers headed west. When we got cold, we went inside and sat in window bays and read some more.
I have been able to access the Internet. It really is not reliable. It comes and goes, sometimes at the most unfortunate moments.
We also went for a walk around the ship.....up to the top where it was quite windy. We checked out some spots that we had not checked out this trip. While we were on Deck 12, we saw a shadow of land. It did not take a good picture. We also saw a sailboat which was a good distance from us.
During the afternoon, we declared nap time and adjourned to our stateroom. At 3:00 PM we went to deck 2 to check out the Diamond Jubilee Street Party. This was a finger foods and drink party set up in the central hallway in honor of the Queen. It was an absolute mob. The lines of people, several people wide, went from one end of the ship to the other. We managed to get to deck 3. From there we took the elevator where afternoon tea was available. Since everyone and his uncle was on deck 2, we were able to get a scone and something to drink pretty easily.
Dinner is formal tonight. The theme is the Royal Jubilee Ascot Ball. Ladies are encouraged to wear hats. The play tonight is Apassionata, presented by the Cunard Singers and Dancers. The presentation is gorgeous including dance and music from Glenn Millers' Swing to the Tango.
Off to the casino to spend our $2.13 winnings. It didn't take us long to be parted with our money. Jan ended up a bit more than $8.00 in winnings.
