SORRY Not a picture day
Another day at sea.... The weather continues to play havoc with Neil's desire to sit on the deck and leisurely read a book. It is cloudy and quite cool.
We continued our daily habit of having a danish and a pot of coffee delivered to our stateroom. What a luxury! We get cleaned up and go to the Britannia Dining Room for breakfast. We could go up to seventh deck, but up there we have to wait on ourselves. In the dining room we get tablecloths, cloth napkins, people who put a napkin on my lap, hand me a leather bound menu, ask what kind of juice I want, ask if I want coffee, breakfast bread, and then allow me to order whatever I want. We saw one fellow order juice, breakfast bread, fruit plate, oatmeal with banana, two eggs, American bacon, English bacon, sausages, a waffle and toast. Yes, he ate it all.
We attended a lecture about "What is wrong with the media." by broadcaster Nicholas Owens. It was an opinion piece comparing the American and British print media and tv media. Quite interesting. Lunch and a bit of a walk around the deck. Nap time for Neil. At 3 we attended a lecture about the great British passenger ships. The lectures that we have attended have had quite good attendance. After the lecture we ran to 7th deck and had a scone and clotted cream....butter and whipped cream is what it tastes like.
Dinner, like last night, is semi-formal. That means men must wear a jacket and tie, and ladies must wear a cocktail dress or pants suit. Sorry, ladies may wear a trouser suit. Pants in the UK refers to ones underwear. Dinner, as usual, was quite a treat. After dinner, we went to the theater production. The Cunard dancers did a short presentation....always good. Then the headline performers presented Showtime: Two on Tap. Melissa and Ron are tap dancers and singers. Even though they were quite talented, this was not one of my favorite shows. Since we would have had to miss the show, we skipped the special Captain's cocktail party for gold, diamond,
and platinum members of the World Club.
