Another normal morning with Joey resplendent in her blue overalls—she is so cute.
We decided to go downtown for lunch and look for a couple of things that have been eluding us. It turned out to be a big day for Neil. When we got downtown we worked our way from the subway stop to Glasgow Central Station.
We stopped in several shops we had not been in but did not find anything of real interest.
South of the station we found another location for Ad Lib restaurant that we had experience with the first time we were in Glasgow. Lunch was great: two Macaroni and Cheese lunches—more cheese and less macaroni than at home. We had some discussions about what and where we wanted to go after lunch.
One of the things we talked over at lunch was haircuts—but did not do anything about that. Instead we went to Pringle’s a souvenir/clothing shop—looking for a necklace and by the way bought a Harris Tweed Jacket that Neil had been eyeing from our very first trip to Glasgow.
We moved down Argyll street to LUSH, where Nancy bought two bath bombs, a way to add moisturizer and fragrance to a bath. Then we moved further down hill to Fraser’s, one of the posh department stores where Nancy as usual not wearing any make-up got a disdainful look from one of the clerks/guards in the make-up department as we entered, but we finally found our way to the part we wanted where we made some purchases, walked across the street to the subway and rode home.
Once back home Neil as usual took a nap and Nancy went out looking for a place to cut her hair. A while later she returned and Neil Woke up. Nancy was steamed that the shops she tried wanted forty pounds to trim her hair—way more than she wanted to pay.
We played with the granddaughter for a while and then decided that we needed to get some groceries as we had promised to get them as part of our trip downtown but had not. In the rain we walked down the hill, loaded up with juice and milk and supplies for dinner. Then hiked back up-hill also in the rain.
It was a rainy day, but we missed most of the rain downtown—back on our way to the flat we were not so lucky.
Spaghetti casserole for dinner, Joey to bed, A little TV via the internet, and bedtime, another great day in Scotland.
