Got up as usual, played with Joey, had breakfast and got cleaned up. Pretty much the usual morning.
We decided to go downtown because we needed some things. So we headed out on the subway—our twenty ride ticket is running out of rides—we got off at ST. Enoch and headed for the People’s Palace on Glasgow Green. We made two stops on the way, WH. Smith, and then the TotShop where they were having a sale. We picked out a very nice outfit for Joey—white top, pink corduroy pants, and pink socks, topped off with a pink vest. It was very lovely. Then we made the hike out to the People’s Palace, a pretty walk in warm temps and dry air, but we took a wrong turn and ended up in St. Andrews Square which was kind of the long way around. They were taking down the carnival from the Glasgow Fair the previous day. The plan was to buy a gift in the gift shop and perhaps have a bite to eat in the glass house. The gift was no problem, but the inside of the glass house on this sunny morning was very warm so we headed back to downtown.
As the time was moving on we stopped for a quick predictable lunch at McDonald’s, and it was predictable, the hamburger, the fries, the coke were all McDonalds. We walked the rest of the way to the subway and came home.
We stopped at the bottom ofGreat George Street at another children’s stuff store whose name is French and therefore unpronounceable. We didn’t find any corduroy overalls, but we did find some blue gingham overalls that we purchased---I guess it was spoil the grand daughter day. We walked up the hill and spent the remainder of the afternoon, writing or reading or in Neil/s case napping. We had a wonderful pork/rice/vegetables casserole for dinner and piled into bed—tired after another day.
